Proverbs 15: 6 (Msg) says The lives of God-loyal people flourish!
My daughter recently reposted an Instagram claim that referenced a growing body of scientific articles boldly purporting that Christians are the most happy people! It went on to report that values of forgiveness, gratitude and faith in God made massive impact. Lower levels of anxiety and depression were reported, as well as the presence of individual purpose, hope and long-suffering. It was neat to see that the scientific world was exposing what lovers of God have already experienced and known.
Health starts in the heart. Our bodies, minds, and spirit are uniquely connected with great intention. Sometimes what we need most isn’t found in a medication, supplement, new workout routine or diet plan. Maybe it’s deeper than that. Maybe we need to recover and calm our nervous systems by laying down the burdens we’ve been carrying. Maybe we need to connect with God in nature and sunshine, boosting our endorphins and bolstering our Vitamin D levels! Maybe we just need to laugh, limit our screen time or access to 24/7 news and put on worship music to refresh our soul.
May I humbly suggest you set aside a small amount of quiet time to pray, talk to God and listen as well. He loves to speak. It’ll be time well, well spent.
A few verses to reflect on today:
Proverbs 17:22: A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
1st Peter 5:7: Cast all your anxiety on Him, because he cares for you.
Jeremiah 31:3: I’ve never quit loving you and I’ll never will. Expect love, love and more love.
3 John 1:2: Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
